12 Days Of Christmas Art

Art For Christmas

We ran a little feature on the Art Hire Framing Facebook page which many people seemed to enjoy  and it made sense to include it here also.

Joan Eardley art

ART HIRE FRAMING’S 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – Work that we have framed which we would be happy to see in our Christmas stocking or around the tree.
On the1st Day of Christmas….a Joan Eardley oil- nothing like starting at the top.

Glasgow Artists

On the second day of Christmas….a portrait by Craig Mulholland – especially one that has a frame in it held by a very handsome, young, dark haired and tanned picture framer who wishes he still looked like that!!! Artistic licence rocks!

Boat Art

On the 3rd day of Christmas…an Archie Forrest mixed media painting of a sun kissed Mediterranean beach. One can only dream when looking out the window at a wind and rain swept Scotland.

Unusual Picture Frames

On the 4th day of Christmas… a festive looking Linda Farquarson lino cut

Scottish Landscapes

On the 5th day of Christmas…..a Sandy Murphy winter landscape. I’m just back from delivering 20 framed paintings to a client in Glen Etive on a stunningly beautiful winters morning. When you see Scotland on days like this you can understand why it inspires so many Scottish artists.

Picture Framing Brushes

On the 7th Day of Christmas……New paint brushes please!

Who Frames Peter Howsons Paintings

On the (almost forgotten) 6th Day of Christmas…..suppose you have to include a bit of religion – Peter Howsons John Ogilvie from St Andrews Cathedral.

Art Framing

On the 8th Day of Christmas….One of Charles Jamieson’s Cuban paintings. Exactly what is required after turning up at Scotstoun Stadium only to find out the Glasgow Warriors game had been rained off at the last minute. Bloody December in Glasgow. Bring on that Carribian sunshine!

Tunnocks Tea Cake Painting

Art Hire Framing’s 12 Days of Christmas

Day 9……Fiona Watson’s original print “Cake”. It’s not just the weather we hate at this time of year, mince pies, I mean what’s the point! Give me the design classic that is The Tunnoch’s Tea Cake any day.

Day 10…..An embroidered oriental jacket. Everyone gets clothes for Christmas but not normally like this and framed. It’s an embroidered oriental jacket that an elderly client’s mother used to ware when she played mahjong back in Singapore just before the Chinese invasion of 1942.

Day 11……Art Hire Framing‘s own brand of Santa’s little helpers! Happy Christmas on and all.

Picture Framers In Glasgow

For a number of years now the current Mrs Greer and I have combined resources and bought a painting as a joint present to ourselves. This one by Fran is the best so far.
Merry Christmas
