The Team

These are the guys that make Art Hire what it is, a team. Well, more than that. It is hard to imagine a more experienced and skilful group of framers. They are a cocktail of career framers, Fine Art graduates and practicing artists who you can trust. They are the real deal.

Mark Greer – Founder – Mark started framing his own work at Art School and fell into framing when it became clear that people preferred his frames to his art, it wasn’t long before he was making frames for his friends and fellow graduates. It wasn’t too hard to see that his frames were quality while his art was well dodgy. Every cloud has a silver lining!

Scott Young – Second in command – has been framing since 1986 first with Corners before becoming Art Hire’s first full time employee in 1993. He has been with us so long that only our most loyal customers remember him with a full head of hair. Scott is simply the best framer and most genuine person you could hope to meet.

Emil De Hoop brought an international flair to the team when he joined in 2014. Having spent many years in his native  Amsterdam’s working one of it’s premier framing house, love rather than the weather brought him to Glasgow. An affable big chap, he’s a welcome addition to our Gilding and Surfaces department.

John McMillan has working beside Ricki for the last 29 years and has seen just about everything possible in the world of framing, or so he thought until he joined Art Hire in 2007. Like 2 of his co-workers, he is in a permanent state of depression caused by his football team’s liquidation and demotion to Division 3!

Ricki Cameron’s first frame was made for a large boat captained by Noah.  He started framing 42 years ago with Framemaker, running it for the last 4 of those before joining Art Hire in 2007.
